It has been a roller coaster of a journey and I would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all my old & new friends and family.
When I started the business 4 years ago the main purpose of the brand was to create “Art to Wear” collections that celebrated colour, culture and diversity. Bringing a unique product that epitomises great design, luxury and quality to market is a key aspect of my brand strategy. All my designs are a combination of traditional hand drawings and contemporary techniques; an eclectic fusion of colour and patterns, creating bold prints, with an emphasis on innovation and uniqueness. One important goal was to produce my products in the UK.
Over the last four years I worked full time as a buyer for other companies, but as of last August I decided to focus solely on the collection. I gave up my career to focus on my brand. I started with re-launching the collection introducing new silk square scarves, fine wool scarves and our skinny scarves. 2014 marked the launch of our silk dresses, which went down a storm. Subsequently we are launching new prints for Spring/Summer 2015 and expanding the size range.
Early 2014 marked the start of expanding into Europe with our first distributor in Germany coming on board. Else and her team are working hard building the brand in Germany, they currently have 2 shows over the next 3 weeks. Their efforts are paying off as the collection is now available across Germany.
We have had many milestones in the last year with launching the new silk and wool scarves and silk dresses, but some of the biggest milestones have been created by the people that have come with us on the journey. Pretty Things have been an incredible support and are instrumental in the growth and development of the brand; Johnstons of Elgin coming on board has propelled the brand to new heights. Another major supporter of the collection is the House of Bruar, the team have been phenomenal in their support and this season they have selected 3 of our classic silk scarves to feature in their prestigious catalogue; due to land on door steps across the country on the 18th of August. It is fantastic to see so many buyers believing and supporting independent British designers and British products.
It has been a roller coaster of a journey and I would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all my old & new friends and family. Without their support and belief in the brand we would not be here now and growing stronger season by season. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the shops that have come with us on this journey some old and many new. To name but a few Pretty Things, The House of Bruar, Johnstons of Elgin, The Arc Gallery, Solo Per Te, Gallery Q, Concrete Wardrobe, Quadri, Kaala22, That’s It Gifts……
Here are just some images of the people who have helped along the way.
Over the years the brand has evolved and grown with the support of family and friends (old and new), above all my stockists and customers have been instrumental in where the brand is today and were we aim to be.
